Rampart extends total-body radiation protection to interventional imagers with Vanguard launch - Vascular News

Rampart has launched Rampart Vanguard, a new radiation protection solution designed for interventional imagers working at the head of the table. This product will debut at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) 2026 conference in San Diego from October 31 to November 3. Vanguard aims to significantly reduce occupational radiation exposure for clinicians without hindering patient access or procedural workflow. Historically, the radiation protection needs of interventional imagers have been neglected, with studies showing they can receive up to five times the radiation dose of interventional cardiologists. Vanguard offers more than 99% radiation dose reduction to key areas of the body while allowing direct patient access and probe manipulation. The launch of Vanguard coincides with a new multi-society consensus statement advocating for enhanced radiation protection in fluoroscopy labs. Rampart plans to present early clinical data at TCT showing Vanguard's effectiveness during real-world procedures, indicating a critical advancement in occupational radiation safety for medical teams.
